Jibacoa is a beach area on the north coast of Cuba. East of Habana province almost at Matanzas. The limestone cliffs started getting some attention from climbers in the last two years. This february Yarobis Garcia, Anibal Fernandez and Mathias Hammer bolted six new lines and opened a new crag. The routes grade from 6a to 7b and there is potential for more. Glue-in bolts were used on the new crag but the routes on ” El Penon” have some expasions. In the future only glue-ins should be used due to the ocean proximity.
